Dual Meet Commandments

1.

Team warm-ups start at 2:30.

2.

Know when to run. Know the order of events BEFORE the meet. Be sure that you are not entered in more than 4 events and that you are entered in only ONE division, either Junior Varsity or Varsity you may NOT compete in both divisions in a single meet!!!

3.

Yes, you must warm up for field events.

4.

You must warm up for EVERY event.

5.

Jumpers must “get your steps” down as soon as possible.

6.

Jumpers know your rules(i.e. time limits, order of jumps etc.)

7.

If your event requires starting blocks, set them early.

8. Hurdlers must use hurdles for warm ups.

9.

Know where your race starts. Know where the starter is. He wears a red hat and usually a red coat.

10.

Know which line is the finish line.

11.

Do not bother the officials about your times. We will have them.

12.

Stay out of the stands. Be available if we need your “services.”

13.

After your race, put your sweats back on regardless of the weather.

14.

If you are on the relays, know where the acceleration and the exchange zones are.

15.

Be sure you have all you equipment the day BEFORE the meet.

16.

NEVER TALK BACK TO AN OFFICIAL, STARTER, OPPOSING COACH OR AN OPPOSING ATHLETE. REPORT PROBLEM TO YOUR EVENT COACH OR TO COACH SUMMERS.

17.

No food. You are at the meet to compete, not to eat.

18.

Do NOT run along side a runner in a race. You will disqualify him.

19.

IF YOU REFUSE TO RUN OR DROP OUT OF AN EVENT WITHOUT PERMISSION, YOU ARE SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION!

20.

NOBODY leaves until excused by Coach Summers. NO EXCEPTIONS.

21.

SHOW GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS.
